Oh 2020 I bid you adieu...
Your time has passed and you are through
As I reflect and did endure
I thank you for that, which makes me so sure
I’m ready for better and yet can’t forget
The progress I made and pain I offset
I’ll always be grateful
I’ll always be humble
I’ll carry on
And I will still stumble
But this I know now
No matter, no how
I have power in me
And with this I’m free
To every new day
Coming my way
Here’s my plan
I know I can...
To do my best
To face the test
To live and love
And rise above...
Each day I rise
I’ll close my eyes
For just a moment
For all endowment
Thank my God, for all of it
And know with Him, I’ll get through it..

To show mercy when needed
To hold onto me

Something brand new
To help other people

Pain for love
Oh Mother Earth
I found in her
A mighty force
I’m not kidding
She was first
In my heart
On my mind
Body parts
Masked or fined
From the fires
And the floods
Human nature

All in slumber
Waking up
People’s thoughts
Blowing up
Enough of this
So much of that
Understanding
Who does that?
Media circles
All the leaders
Tortured souls
No more teachers
Human spirit
Feeling low
Reaching out
Needs to know
Around the world
Everywhere
Locked inside
Living fear
Sending love
Hope connecting
Reservations
Borders missing

Everyone
Their frustrations

Became the face
How to see
Another being

They had feelings

Some so different

Some found healing
Looked for answers
Living ignorance

Every life
Oh so many
Life became
Mental health
Love increased
To see this wealth
Stats announced
As if finite
Valid was
No more life?
To be reliable
I still question
For in all this
I saw the lesson
There is no normal
Take for granted
People first
Success is planted
All the jobs
And manufactures
In all the wallets
Not what matters
All of nature
So mistreated
Neglected space
Regrowth was needed
Bluer skies
Fresher air
Time at home
Who was there?
Readjustments

Turned the handle
Not giving up
Perseverance
Many tears
And much endurance

End of year
I have to say
Was a good year
I said goodbye
To family
I found in it
More love to see
I lived through
And I made it
So did you..
Be proud of it
As you venture

There is still
Much to be done

If you think but for a moment
You’d like to rest and really know it
So much in life needs compromise
Let’s just stop and close our eyes
All the troubles, all the pain
All the joys we want again
If you think that you are sad
Surely this, is not so bad
Do you know that you can float
Take a ride or write a note
By yourself you can do this
Tune out the noise and dismiss
Add a little silent prayer
Or some music to the air
A rested head and blanket too
There are things for you to do
Inhaling scents provoking pleasure
Hot baked bread or lavender
Candles added to the presence
Warming glow, add some incense
A bubble bath takes some time
You know your skin will just shine
A healthy meal or cup of soup
Quiet time for you to coop
Remove the objects that do harm you
Take a break and and do what birds do
Fly away and live in trees
Pretending here if you please
If you like to play and sing
You’re not missing anything
Dance to rhythms of the past
Remember times when you laughed
If you feel like some crying
That’s ok, you know your trying
In the days when you are weak
This is the time for strength to speak
A human being can go far
Allow yourself as you are
Imagine things that give you comfort
Not the things that are not worth it
If there are people in your life
Think of them and what it’s like
How they also struggle too
And the ones that smile at you
Think of things in your heart
All the days and brand new starts
Forgive the times you resented
Allow new dreams to be presented
We all know that nothing stays
Change occurs in every day
The world continues anyway

When asked a question
The brain does work
It sets off commotion
Along with a smirk
Computing its knowledge
It looks for an answer
Shoots of the neurons
Just like a dancer
Every step is in tune
All paths are unique
It’s really incredible
The brain’s technique
It searches the files
In your memory bank
Sorts through the info
For something to yank
The mind starts to wander
Into the vast space
Something inside
Beyond the brain’s place
The seconds it takes
To look for a clue
What brain cannot find
The imagination will do
“What if’s” start to happen
What might and could be
Are flying around
Inside all of thee
The question was asked
But moments ago
The brain has run out
And it doesn’t know
The mind has a bonus
It offers to do
Another reason
For dear brain to chew
Brain asks the mind
“What are you thinking?”
It doesn’t make sense
And eyes start blinking
“What if?” Says the mind
And the brain does laugh
“Your out of your mind”
And mind shows a graph
Of what the possible
Outcomes could be
“If you dear brain,
Just listen to me!”
Brain took a moment
And said to the heart
“Do you believe
The mind and this chart?”
The heart was alert
And knew brain was smart
It answered directly
“You need only start.”
