Life will start and be most bright
We might think we’ve seen the light
But when a cloud of darkness sets
That part of life will leave regrets
A friend of mine who meant a lot
The world and more, or so I thought
We shared so many complex words
And never feared the charging herds
Oh happy was I to have a friend
Always there, a hand to lend
Side by side as friends should be
I never once thought about me
Until the day I was betrayed
I loved my friend and always prayed
But when she took another path
She left me standing in her wrath
I had no way to understand her
Nor her words of blatent slander
No more time in my daylight
It’s darkness now, like the night
There’re times in life we really care
And with this too we often share
When we know we are mistreated
We have to leave, but not defeated
We learn to walk and then to run
We keep on moving, never done
What you learn from friends now foes
What matters now is anything goes
So my friend and those who read
Be mindful of the acts of creed
Be true to self and never yield
Hold your faith within your shield
If there be truth we learn from mistakes
I often wonder how many it takes
For every friend that I do meet
I should really never play repeat
We the people of the nation
In all the world and creation
The greatest gift in humanity
Is a friend who grants you dignity

From a past friend or two
Should never infer
With those that are new.

It’s really unfair
And horribly true
To make a new friend
You must refresh and renew

This poem was revived from my childhood journal. I hope you enjoy. You Beautiful People “The residual elements of past friendships should not affect subsequent relationships.” #Opism To live is to learn To learn is to teach Upgrading is necessary When lessons are contrary Do yourself the honour Let love in you be thunder When you feel the pain know the sun will shine again #PaulaG
