When we were little
The days seemed long
But as we grew older
Another theme song..

There were such events
That may have been sad
And others instead
We wish that we had

Then there were people
Who you came across
Who opened your eyes
When they suffered a loss

It didn’t seem fair
It just wasn’t right
It made no sense
To hear of such smite

You tried many things
And changed your mind too
You may keep asking
Why it happens to you

A part of yourself
Is taken away
When you always live
In this yesterday

There is no joy
The further you go
Away from the self
Who all of you know

To understand life
You need to converse
With the one within
From the day of your birth

If you figure this out
And realize
Right till your death
They are the same size

No one else
No other being
Will know all of you
And what you’re feeling

The more you do cry
And shed many tears
The more it remains
For so many years

So stop and remember
Right here and right now
Forgive all there is
For you must allow

Before you walk
You learn to crawl
In order to stand
You first must fall

What holds you back
Is history to weigh
It doesn’t belong
In the gift of today!
