A sprawling garden
Cardboard box
A room inside
Without locks
We may own
Some do rent
Others squat
Trailers lent
The daily wage
Most relied on
Now is gone
What will they ride on
Jobless now
Among the many
Know the value
Of a penny
Why we care
And why we pray
What you want
Was in the way
Oh the rich
Are broken now
And the poor
Don’t care somehow
It doesn’t matter
If your famous
No life is better
ignoramus
This is the start
There will be more
Most revealing
What’s in store
The way of life
From history
Has much to offer
This we’ll see
All is gone
We ever knew
Starting over
All of you
Diversified
Those with dollars
Classified
Are those with collars
Undetermined
Common man?
Whatever happened
To superman?
When it gets tough
Some run and hide
Courageous ones
Now reside
To lend support
And give a hand
More empathy
They understand
Those you thought
Would help you
Are the first
To forget too
All the actors
On the stage
Without lines
They can’t engage
All the stores
And their goods
No one cares
Some sales are floods
If there’s help
Financially
Not all will get
No technology
Now the crime
Is catching on
This will rise
It is not done

Stay away
This is just
The very beginning
The biggest challenge
To all the living
On your mark
Was weeks ago
Get set was ready
Ignored just so
Buckle up

The gun went off
The other night
The hand of God
Was always there
And now we need
More than prayer
